Before there were digital downloads, iPods or iTunes, songs were released as 'singles'. For many years they were only available on 45rpm records. Most 45s had 'sleeves' that they were kept in and featured some kind of art work or photography along with, usually, the titles of the songs.
In part, this blog is dedicated to the lost 45s of the great decade of the 80s. Kind of a 'visual soundtrack' if you will. Where you can actually see the music, not just hear it.
I am a true music enthusiast and have been all my life. I love most all styles and genres of music and look at music as a true art form. I have the utmost respect and appreciation for anyone who can play an instrument, write a song or sing. I'm also a Billboard chart historian and enthusiast and love discussing historical chart data. I'm not a fan of the changes Billboard made to the charts in 1995 or 2005, but that's a discussion for another time.
For the most part, any reviews of bands or songs on this site will be 'short & sweet'; an introduction or refresher. There are hundreds of reviews all over the internet and, of course, wikipedia has virtually all of the expanded info you would need.
So feel free to comment on any posts I may make, take a walk through my galleries of literally thousands of 45 sleeves, talk about anything 80s related etc. and don't forget to add me & subscribe!
